The Crouch Valley line is a branch line built in 1889 running 16.5 miles from Southminster to Wickford.
Burnham-on-Crouch Railway Station Stations on the line are Battlesbridge, South Woodham Ferrers, North Fambridge, Althorne, Burnham-on-Crouch, Southminster. Regular electric trains operated by One run on the line which include through trains to London Liverpool Street at busy periods.
Trains have a conductor to collect fares and check tickets although ticket offices are open from early morning to about 11am on weekdays at Burnham and Southminster Railways Stations. During rush hour periods services are more frequent at different times.
