The Crouch Yacht Club began life based in a houseboat moored at North Fambridge.
The Club decided to relocate in Burnham and initially moved the houseboat to Burnham until 1912 when they bought the Sail Loft recently vacated by Saddlers to use as their Club House. The clubhouse was a large two storey red brick building in Coronation Road offering River Views from a terrace on the upper floor.
The original red brick centre section of the Crouch Yacht Club still remains
In 1979 the Clubhouse was extensively refurbished with a new white weatherboard facade at the front providing a new distinctive feature on the waterfront.
The Club organises a program of races catering for yachts large and small and has one of the most active social programmes within the Yacht Clubs.
