Nick Winter is a Leading Fireman at Burnham Fire Station.
Nick is going to go to Peru on a charity challenge in September, to raise money for the Fire Service National Benevolent Fund The amazing 12 day challenge will involve mountain biking and white water rafting, trek through gorges, visit remote waterfalls, camping in the wilderness, climb volcanoes, hike the Inca trail, and visit the ancient and mysterious 'lost city' of Machu Picchu. This fund looks after the welfare of injured Fire-fighters and their families. It also takes care of orphan's and widows offering support both financial and emotional, should a Fire-fighter die on duty. Amongst many charity appeals it is difficult to find a more worthy charity. Nick has a target of £2,600 to raise for the fund which he is achieving by sponsorship and organising many other activities.
