The Environment Agency issued severe flood warnings for the 8.45pm tide on Thursday 8 November 2007.

Maldon District Council, The Environment Agency and Essex Police implemented the emergency planning system should the flood defences fail to cope.

Although there was some flooding in Suffolk and Norfolk the flood defences held in our area although the situation was helped by a change of wind direction just before high tide.

After the warning some concern was expressed as to the safety in this area from flooding.
