Burnham Riverfest

Riverfest is a month long music festival that takes place each June. The highlight of the festival is the music weekend at Millfields when live musicians entertain the crowds at Burnham Riverside Park on Saturday and Sunday. Although the weekend still has it's trademark rocking blues feel there are a wide variety of styles of artist to appeal to all tastes. Sponsorship allows the weekend to be free of charge even though the artists include some well known names.

Other highlights of the festival include the famous water rats when live bands play on boats moored in the river allowing superb Quayside views, Music on the train with musicians playing live on the trains running on the Crouch Valley Line , the Arts Trail and so much more.

Riverfest began in 1992 as part of the national music day events. The success of the first music day led to it's adoption as a yearly event and with the drive of local musician Tim Aves and his many friends it grew and grew into the weeklong festival that is Riverfest.
